Bet365 decided to close its operation in India. The decision has been made that Bet365 will not accept players from India from August 18th, 2023. Bet365 didn’t disclose any details about the decision.

Bet365, world’s famous online bookmaker is bound to close their gaming operation in Andhra Pradesh.
The decision has been made after The Andhra Pradesh government declared all online gambling activities illegal.
The AP government won’t ban access to gambling websites, but is encouraging people not to use them.
Gambling Act from 1974 has been modified and amended in order to protect young people and prevent gambling addiction.
Following the ban, Bet365 will be closing down all existing accounts of players from Andhra Pradesh. All players will be reimbursed and their accounts closed.
Andhra Pradesh Gambling Act (Amendments to the GA 1974) 2020 key points;
- Anyone caught gambling, offline or online, will be charged minimum of Rs. 5,000 as fine and imprisonment for up to one year for the one providing gambling services and 6 months for person caught gambling (player).
- If the offence is repeated, a punishment could be up to two years of jail for both player and operator. Rs. 10,000 fine also applies.
Following this strict rules, Bet365, as responsible bookmaker, are closing all operations in Indian State of Andhra Pradesh.
